Thank you for your interest in my service! I want your experience with Book Cover Labs to be as smooth and pleasant as possible. You’ll know exactly how it works, what you’re getting, and you can have the complete confidence with my money back guarantee.
The Order Process
Everything is very easy and straightforward. To become more familiar with my service, check out samples of my work and read some testimonials from other clients. Click on the “Packages” button on the top navigation bar to compare packages and prices and choose what’s right for you.
For the book cover design, a 50% deposit is required to initiate the project. Additional optional graphics (for example, banner ads or Facebook covers) have a flat up-front fee. All the prices are listed right here on this website, in the “Packages” section.
The 50% deposit serves as a simplified service agreement between you and me and ensures that we both are invested in the project and are serious about it.
Click the Add To Cart button, and the payment (50% or whole, depending on the item) will be added to your Shopping Cart. The contents of your Cart appears on the right side bar of the website. (Sometimes you need to scroll up your screen to see the Cart.) You can edit your Cart by changing the quantity, adding or removing items.
The Payment Process
All payments are made safely and securely through PayPal. When you click on the checkout button in your Shopping Cart you will be taken to PayPal to make your payment. You do not need a PayPal account for this – you can pay with your credit or debit card. It’s very easy and PayPal will walk you through each step of the process.
After the payment you will be redirected to a special page where you can fill in a form providing me with the details of your order. You can also email me at nat@bookcoverlabs.com with any questions or additional comments about your order.
The Design Process
It is my privilege and responsibility to create a design that will help you sell more of your books. I don’t simply pull random designs out of my pure imagination, I “do my homework” first.
I take into account the genre of your work, look into your target audience and their demographics… There are lots of things to consider and I put my marketer’s hat on before I get to wear my artist’s beret!
As far as the design goes, I source high quality stock images from stock photo sites, so you can be sure that the images are fully licensed and are safe to use. You can also send me images or fonts you would like me to use in your design, as long as you have the necessary license to do this. By sending me any such materials you indicate that you, indeed, possess the license to do so and agree that Book Cover Labs or Natalia Hawthorne won’t be held liable to any legal claims regarding copyright or licensing issues. This sounds like serious stuff, because it is. I don’t want either of us to have any legal problems. OK? Good!
First Draft
Within 7-14 days of your initial deposit payment (usually much earlier than that) I will send you the first draft of your project. If you paid a 50% deposit, the draft version will be a watermarked image or a screenshot of the proposed design.
If you made the full payment (for example, for a banner ad or a blog header), I’ll skip the watermark or screenshot and will send you “the real thing”.
Revisions
At this stage, before your final approval, you can request changes to the proposed design. See the concrete product packages for the available amount of free revisions. (Just so we are on the same page: “changes” mean editing or tweaking certain elements within the existing design, not to create a completely different concept. For the latter, please place a new order.)
Rceiving the Finished Product
When you are happy with the design, simply go to the same page where you paid the 50% deposit and use the same pay button to send the remaining balance. You already know how to do that. (Skip this step if you paid in full upfront.)
Upon receiving your final payment I will send you the finished product either as an email attachment (if the file is small in size), or via online file sharing services, such as Dropbox or Google Drive.
Money Back Guarantee
I will work with you until you are 100% happy with the finished product. You can request changes to the proposed draft versions at any time before your final approval. (See concrete packages for the amount of available free revisions.) I will do my best to follow your instructions and implement your vision. If I still can’t get it right and you remain unsatisfied, I will refund your initial deposit in full and cancel the project.
You have absolutely no risk and are fully protected by my 100% money back guarantee. All the risk is on me.
Please note that due to the digital nature of the finished product, no refunds can be issued after you have approved the finished product and have downloaded the final files to your computer.
Communication
At any time through the duration of our project (and beyond) you can contact me directly by email at nat@bookcoverlabs.com.
To save us both time and money, I don’t do any phone or Skype conversations. My clients come from different parts of the world and it is more efficient to communicate by email. Also, I prefer to have a written record of what we’ve discussed and any specific requests you’ve made, so we can avoid any miscommunication.
You can also message me on Facebook here. I check my emails and Facebook messages several times a day and it allows me to address any specific questions or requests in an efficient manner.
I look forward to hearing from you and working on your project!
Sincerely,
Natalia Hawthorne
